Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Jack Barchas received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College in 1956 and his medical degree from Yale University in 1961. He then took an internship at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine, did postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health, and completed his psychiatry residency at Stanford, where he was a faculty member and the Nancy Friend Pritzker Professor through 1989. Dr. Barchas has received many professional honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Biological Psychiatry and the Research Award for Lifetime Achievement from the American Psychiatric Association.Topical Index:
