Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Janowsky sees patients and teaches residents in the acute diagnostic and treatment clinic one-half day per week. He consults on psychopharmacological issues at the Murdoch Center for the mentally retarded in Butner, N.C., one and one-half days per week. As well, he treats on a one-on-one basis approximately 12-15 patients per week, utilizing psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy. He also studies the role of cholinergic mechanisms in depression and is developing antidotes to cholinergic nerve agent (i.e. nerve gas) poisoning.
