Biographical Sketch:
The research in James H. Wood’s laboratory focuses on behavioral and pharmacological factors affecting self-administration of drugs in animals including mechanisms of tolerance and dependence, characterization of compounds with novel opioid mechanisms, and the excitatory amino acids.

Research and Teaching Interests
Behavioral pharmacology, behavioral aspects of drug dependence, motivation, and reinforcement theory.

James received his B.A. Commerce from Ohio University,
M.A. and Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
