Scholarship

In collaboration with the journal, Neuropsychopharmacology, we will be posting a series of essays on the history of neuropsychopharmacology. These essays will aim to address contemporary issues in the field from a variety of historical perspectives, such as drug evaluation and regulation, outcome assessment, and human experimentation. To capture the complexity of the field’s history, the essays will traverse the huge disciplinary and scientific terrain mapped by contemporary Neuropharmacology; a terrain that ranges from clinical psychiatry and psychology, to descriptive psychopathology, to medicinal chemistry, and to molecular biology. While the articles will have appeared in the journal first, the authors will expand them for publication on the web and, when relevant, make use of digital the ACNP’s digital archival collections.
